Our Story

The journey that brought us together and led us to our wedding day has been filled with love, laughter, and countless memories. Here's the story of how we became us.

How We Met

How We Met

Summer 2020

We first crossed paths at a mutual friend's birthday party in the summer of 2020. Sarah was chatting with some friends when Jed approached to ask about the book she had mentioned earlier in the conversation.

What started as casual conversation over shared interests in travel and photography quickly blossomed into something more. We talked for hours that night, discovering our mutual love for hiking, classic films, and trying new restaurants. By the end of the evening, we had exchanged numbers and made plans to meet for coffee the following week. That coffee date turned into a walk in the park, which turned into dinner, and the rest, as they say, is history.

Our First Date

Our First Date

July 2020

Our first official date was at a small coffee shop downtown. What was meant to be a quick coffee turned into a four-hour conversation where we lost track of time completely.

From the coffee shop, we decided to take a walk through the nearby botanical gardens. It was a perfect summer day, and as we strolled through the rose garden, we realized how comfortable we felt with each other, as if we'd known each other for years. We ended the evening with dinner at a local Italian restaurant, where we shared our favorite travel stories and future dreams. It was during this dinner that we both knew this was the beginning of something special.

Becoming Official

Becoming Official

September 2020

After a few months of dating, we made our relationship official during a weekend trip to the mountains. We had rented a small cabin for the weekend, planning to hike and enjoy the beginning of fall colors.

On the second day, during a hike to a beautiful overlook, we had a heart-to-heart conversation about our feelings and where we saw our relationship going. Sitting on a rock, overlooking the valley below with the trees beginning to turn golden and red, we decided to make it official. That evening, back at the cabin, we cooked dinner together and toasted to our new relationship status. Little did we know then what an amazing journey we were beginning.

Moving In Together

Moving In Together

June 2022

After almost two years of dating, we decided to take the next step and move in together. We found a charming apartment with a small balcony where we could grow herbs and enjoy morning coffee together.

The process of combining our lives—deciding whose furniture to keep, how to arrange our books, and establishing new routines—taught us so much about compromise and communication. There were challenges, of course, but working through them together only strengthened our relationship. Our first night in our new place, we sat on the floor eating takeout surrounded by boxes, and it still felt like home because we were together. That's when we knew we had made the right decision.

The Proposal

The Proposal

April 2023

After three wonderful years together, Jed planned a special hiking trip to our favorite mountain overlook. It was the same trail where we had made our relationship official, but this time, he had a different milestone in mind.

As we reached the summit just before sunset, Jed suggested taking a photo together with the view. As Sarah was admiring the landscape, he got down on one knee. With the city lights beginning to twinkle below us and the sky painted in shades of pink and orange, he asked Sarah to spend forever with him. Through happy tears, she said yes! We celebrated with champagne that Jed had secretly packed in his backpack and watched the sunset as fiancés. It was perfect in its simplicity and meaning—just like our relationship.

Planning Our Future

Planning Our Future

Present Day

Now, as we plan our wedding and our future together, we're filled with excitement for all the adventures that lie ahead. From deciding on wedding details to dreaming about our first home, every conversation brings us closer together.

We've learned that love isn't just about the big moments—the first date, moving in, the proposal—but about the thousands of small moments in between. It's about making coffee for each other in the morning, sending a text just to say "I'm thinking of you," and being there through life's ups and downs. As we prepare to say "I do," we're grateful for the journey that brought us together and excited for all the chapters yet to be written in our story.
