Our Journey to “I Do”

How We Met

We first crossed paths freshman year at Xavier University, but it wasn’t until sophomore year that we actually became friends. Thanks to mutual friends in the nursing program, our social circles quickly blended. Our friendship eventually turned into something more, and during the second semester of junior year, Jed officially asked Sarah to be his girlfriend on Valentine’s Day after a date at Buca Di Beppo.

Our Life in DC

After college, Jed stayed in Cincinnati while Sarah moved to Maryland. After countless visits back and forth between states, we decided to take the leap together and relocate to Virginia. We now call Ballston, VA home and love exploring DC whether that means wandering through monuments and museums, hiking nearby trails, checking out new neighborhoods, or trying new restaurants.

The Proposal

Jed proposed on December 26, 2024, in Nashville, Tennessee during the first Christmas that both of our families spent together. That morning, we all went on a hike at Percy Warner Park. At the end of the trail, we stopped to take a photo with the iconic stone steps behind us. In that moment, Jed pulled the ring from his pocket, completely surprising Sarah. She (obviously) said yes, and we spent the rest of the day celebrating with both of our families making it a moment we’ll always cherish.
